The Lucifer Directive edition by Jon Land Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

The Lucifer Directive pulls you in from the start with terrorists showing up at a bar mitzvah and massacring everyone including 40 children. This event is the first, called Bloody Saturday, in the long list of brutal attacks by a sinister terrorist group with a grave, itinerary.
The Doctor, a spy, tries to get a message to authorities, but in his state of panic, he misdials the number. The message goes to a college student Dan Lennigin. Dan is drug into the world of government secrets, terrorism, and culvert operation putting his young life on the line. Terrified, but mostly intrigued, Dan has his own ax to grinned with terrorist since the murder of his father.
From the first words on the page your pulse starts racing, blood runs cold, and your heart beats hard against your chest in this suspense filled, action packed, thriller of hostile, terrorist assassins.
This is the fist novel I have read by the talented, unmatched, action writer, Jon Land. However, It will not be the last.
He always writes five star books
Since I first started reading Jon Land back in the mid-'90s, I felt that he was essentially Robert Ludlum on steroids which is to say, he wrote thriller novels about global world-threatening conspiracies. Even many of his titles had a Ludlum-esque feel to them (The Lucifer Directive, the Alpha Deception, The Gamma Option, etc.). The more I read Land, the more I saw the differences between him and Ludlum, particularly Land's emphasis on action and superweapons. And though Land has never carved out quite the best-selling niche that Ludlum had, he still has produced a series of fun novels.

The Lucifer Directive is his second novel and it shows off the strengths (and occasional weaknesses) that are typical of a Land novel. The book begins with some terrorists slaughtering everyone at a bar mitzvah, the first act of a shadowy group with a secret (and, of course, nasty, agenda). A spy known as the Doctor tries to warn the authorities, but his cryptic message goes to the wrong number, that of college student Dan Lennigin.

By getting this message, Dan becomes a target to the terrorists, led by the ruthless sadist, Renaldo Black, who himself is working for someone else. Black has ties to an anti-terrorist organization called Lucifer that has gone rogue and is intent on unleashing the dangerous scheme known as the Isoceles Project. By coincidence, Dan has his own agenda against terrorists (his father was killed by one), so he is easily persuaded to be bait in a trap to stop Black. Of course, things don't go as planned, and soon Dan is on the run, playing a cat-and-mouse game with Black where they alternate who is the prey.

As is typical in a Land novel, there are plenty of super-spies and two giant killers, one on the side of good, the other on the side of evil who will inevitably clash. Typically also, there is at least one bad guy who reforms (to an extent) after being exposed to an even greater level of villainny.

It's not deep fiction, but Land's books are a lot of fun to read. He may not be the most prominent of thriller writers, but as shown in the Lucifer Directive, he does an effective job.
read it all. this is great

i could not put it down, so i would advise others to read this book
good read
He's an excellent writer. I loved the story. I came across this book after reading all of the Blaine McCracken novels.
A college student whose father was killed by terrorists is out for revenge. With the government's backing, they help him dole out the justice.
These was a totally hypnotic read. I couldn't think about anything else. It certainly keeps your attention. Highly recommended. Try it--you'll love it.
