From Lake Como in Italy to Oxford, a wonderfully compelling novel about lost love, fate and second chances from the Sunday Times bestselling author.
Lake Como - beautiful, enchanting, romantic...
For Floriana, it is the place where the love of her life is getting married to another woman. And she's been invited to the wedding.
For Esme, it is where, over sixty years ago, she fell in love for the first time. So often she's wondered what happened to the man who stole her heart - and changed the course of her life.
Adam is in danger of burying himself entirely in his work after his girlfriend left him. Could a trip to Lake Como be the distraction he needs?
Now it's time for each of them to understand that the past is not only another country, it can also cast haunting shadows over everyone's lives...

I have always looked forward to Erica James new novels and have never been disappointed ...until now. This one was very slow to move the story line along. All 3 main characters were inconsistent and not quite believable. Neither were they particularly likeable. The storylines were contrived and lacklustre. This novel does not meet the standards of the authors other booksProduct details

Summer at the Lake edition by Erica James Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Entertaining romantic novel, where the 3 main characters and plot get more interesting as the story develops. It was. Good holiday read when I was staying on Lake Como.
This was a delightful story most enjoyable to read, It reminded me so much of one of my favorite movies "A month by the lake"
Most enjoyable read ,would have liked to read of the outcome of the step mother .
This book is a typically feel good novely by Erica James. I like the escapism of it but the old lady character could have been made a bit younger than in her 80's. The fact that she goes back to Lake Como and meets up with an old flame in Venice would be more believable if they were younger!
The story was warm, romatic and fast flowing. AT times you were never sure of what would happen next and the people involved
were very true to life. I could really relate to having someone who was a friend and also was always wanting you to help them.
The description of the Como Lake was beautiful and although I have never been there I believe it to be as was written about.
I loved the story and have already recommended the story to three other friends.
I confess to being a big fan of Erica James and this novel has a beginning, a middle and an end - a mixture of sadness & happiness. You could imagine being on holiday at Lake Como; you can feel the heat of the sun, soak-up the atmosphere and feel very much part of the story. It's a must for any Erica James's fan - much better than "Tell it to the Sky", also set in part in Venice. You could expect a follow on book to continue some of the characters further. Would definitely pack for reading round the pool on your holidays.
What can i say, again, Erica James outdid herself, i love the way she uses two or three generations in a story and interlinks them so well. the way the three main characters meet is so circumstantial, an accident with a bike, a house purchase, a lonely lady. I have never been to italy but she describes it so well, i feel like i would know what to expect. Her love for the characters she writes really comes across, and she creates them in a way that has you interested in finding out how their lives will turn out. Another great read from a great author.
